Rev. Stef and Jubilation (RSJ)

The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever.

Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud, 14 and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God.

Founded by Rev. Dr. Stefanie R. Minatee, RSJ is a culturally mixed aggregation of auditioned voices committed to singing African American sacred music, with an “emphasis” on Gospel music. The choir’s primary focus is preserving the history and legacy of this genre.

In an exciting move that marked music history, legendary superstar Ray Charles was joined by the world famous 120-member Voices of Jubilation Gospel Choir of Newark New Jersey for his first ever Christmas Music Special. They are combined their talents in this unprecedented musical showcase not only to entertain but also to spread positive messages to a wide audience.

What made this endeavor so special is that the 12-time Grammy winner Charles had never performed traditional holiday music in a live concert setting. And, of course, Ray Charles brings his own, unique jazz/rhythm and blues interpretation to these traditional holiday favorites. The show includes such favorites as The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On a Open Fire), Little Drummer Boy, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Silent Night, The First Noel, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and many more!
